WELCOME TO THE WOODSHED

In case you showed up here by mistake, a few things you'll need to know.
First, as the title implies, the woodshed is a place where you can get a verbal ass-whoopin' or we can share a few sips of some of Kosmo's sweet but powerful home-brewed picks, pans, rants and raves. The choice is yours.
Second, I'm retired. that means I have no schedule. I do what I want when I want. That includes answering questions or posting my picks. The only thing that will make that change is sending me money. (Fat chance that'll happen.)
Finally, I'm a gambler, not good enough to make a living at it, but good enough to keep the frig full of brews and smoke a good cigar occasionally
( I'm very partial to NoCal free-rolls ).
That's it. I hope you can use some of the info here to make yourself some money.
FYI: You can add any suggestions or questions in the comment box at the end of any post. Also, use the BLOG ARCHIVE button to view older posts.
PS: There's always some good info. at the very bottom of the page!!

ARCHIE R.I.P.

This was a very sad week-end for me. On Saturday I learned of the death of a friend, Archie, a handsome, friendly and intelligent Jack Russell terrier. We weren’t the closest of friends, but indeed we were friends. I was always happy to share any time with him, and he was always happy, period.

I met Archie, maybe ten years ago. From the first time we met I knew he was special. He was always happy, energetic, and full of life. Archie had the ability to put all those he met at ease and bring a smile to their face. I will miss him dearly.

My friend Mike loved and cared for Archie for 14 years. 14 wonderful years I’m sure. Bless you my friend, for you were truly blessed.

This event has given me time to reflect on the importance and, I’ll say it, need for companion pets. Dogs, cats, lizards, whatever, all provide and fulfill a basic human need for us. Humanity. They help us to learn the true importance of being us, the responsibility of our everyday life. They provide joy at the end of a hum-drum day. They give comfort to stress, hope to depression and purpose to life and ask little in return.

I rarely ask for anything from those of you that know me, but today I will ask you to consider adopting a companion or donating some cash to the local shelter.
