WELCOME TO THE WOODSHED

In case you showed up here by mistake, a few things you'll need to know.
First, as the title implies, the woodshed is a place where you can get a verbal ass-whoopin' or we can share a few sips of some of Kosmo's sweet but powerful home-brewed picks, pans, rants and raves. The choice is yours.
Second, I'm retired. that means I have no schedule. I do what I want when I want. That includes answering questions or posting my picks. The only thing that will make that change is sending me money. (Fat chance that'll happen.)
Finally, I'm a gambler, not good enough to make a living at it, but good enough to keep the frig full of brews and smoke a good cigar occasionally
( I'm very partial to NoCal free-rolls ).
That's it. I hope you can use some of the info here to make yourself some money.
FYI: You can add any suggestions or questions in the comment box at the end of any post. Also, use the BLOG ARCHIVE button to view older posts.
PS: There's always some good info. at the very bottom of the page!!

RANT 10/5

Well, that was a crappy week! I lost on Monday, I went 4-9 on Sunday and 4-7 on Saturday. What makes it even worse, to me anyway, is if I'd went back and checked my records, I would have known I was gonna have a bad week. Three of the last five years, not including this year, I have lost money in week four. Let me just say, I'm very sorry to all those that followed my picks. The good news is, I historically don't have another bad week until week thirteen (again three out of five have been losers or very small winners). Other than college, which I admit I'm not very good at, but earnestly try to improve at, I'm still satisfied with my record. To quote a forum buddy, "Blindly following my plays can be hazardous to your wallet.". To which I'll add, "Use your head, not your heart when you wager and always do your homework.". OK, enough of the self pity. I'm turning the page.

The baseball play-offs start Wednesday and I'm lovin' the match-ups. Rays/Rangers, Yankees/Twins, Reds/Phillies and Giants/Braves. I personally don't see any easy winners but, I'd love to see the Ranger/Twins and the Phillies/Giants play for the conference championship. I picked the Rangers, Twins, Reds, Phillies and Giants at the beginning of the season as division winners in a hand-shake bet with the local baseball guru (I don't bet baseball during the season).

Loved watching the Ryder Cup, even through a wet and foggy lens. It's always been one of my favorite events to watch.
