WELCOME TO THE WOODSHED

In case you showed up here by mistake, a few things you'll need to know.
First, as the title implies, the woodshed is a place where you can get a verbal ass-whoopin' or we can share a few sips of some of Kosmo's sweet but powerful home-brewed picks, pans, rants and raves. The choice is yours.
Second, I'm retired. that means I have no schedule. I do what I want when I want. That includes answering questions or posting my picks. The only thing that will make that change is sending me money. (Fat chance that'll happen.)
Finally, I'm a gambler, not good enough to make a living at it, but good enough to keep the frig full of brews and smoke a good cigar occasionally
( I'm very partial to NoCal free-rolls ).
That's it. I hope you can use some of the info here to make yourself some money.

Hilton Super Contest

Hilton Super Contest NFL Week One Review

Posted by CAPPERSMALL STAFF on 09.13.2011

Week one of the most prestigious NFL contest around has come and gone with plenty of early surprises. The Hilton Super Contest has 517 entries this year, whom all ante up $1,500 cash. First place pays $310,000 this year. One of the biggest surprises was the Cincinnati Bengals stunning the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland as a 6.5 point underdog. Only 39 players had the Bengals on their contest sheet while Cleveland was the 10th highest pick total at 106.

The overall top consensus pick was the Buffalo Bills. The Bills were available at +6.5 on the Hilton board and 163 handicappers grabbed Buffalo in that spot. The Bills covered start to finish in route to a 41-7 road win in Kansas City.

Overall the top 5 consensus picks went 2-3 ATS. The Bills and Patriots covered while the Steelers, Rams and Jets did not.

If you wagered on the least popular picks in the contest you played KC, Jax, GB, Car, Cin and would have went 3-1-1 ATS.

The biggest difference in odds from the Hilton contest and closing odds at the sportsbooks was the Buffalo Bills. The Hilton had Kansas City -6.5 while game day saw the Chiefs as low as -4.

Our own cappers mall jack went 4-1 with the Chiefs being the lone loss. The Ravens, 49ers, Jaguars and Vikings covered the Hilton line.

Richard Stand, last year's winner went 2-3. Stand had the Steelers, Buccaneers, Titans, 49ers and Patriots.

Multiple year winner and long time handicapper fezzik went 2-3 with the Bears, Redskins, Jets, Dolphins and Broncos.

You can check out the Las Vegas Hilton website for the full standings.

The closing line is used with the below stats.

Only two games did the spread come in to play. The Chargers won by 7 but didn't cover the 9 and the Jets won by 3 and didn't cover the 6. Arizona/Carolina was a push at 7.

There were 5 home dogs (3-2 ATS)
Jacksonville, Chicago, Washington won outright
St. Louis & Miami didn't cover

Over's 12-3-1
Favorites 6-9-1
